Q: What is pickled garlic?
A: Pickled garlic is raw garlic that is put in a jar. Liquid that is made up of vinegar, water, herbs and spices are added to the jar. The Garlic Lady uses a cold liquid, and the garlic is NOT cooked. Q: How do you make your products so crispy?
A: The Garlic Lady packs in small batches and use a cold packing process that ensures high quality, healthy, fresh and crispy products. Q: What is cold packing?
A: Cold processing is used in canning the garlic, olives and vegetables. Cold processing packages the produce raw to ensure you receive the freshest and healthiest products available. The health benefits are not cooked out, so consumers receive the nutritional value Mother Nature intended, along with mouth-watering good taste. This allows you to enjoy a crisp and crunchy product! Q: Howcome the lids don't pop when I open up a fresh jar of The Garlic Lady product?
A: In cold packing the lids are steamed closed. You will never hear a 'pop' when opening The Garlic Lady garlic, olives or vegetables. Hot packing is the method which produces a popping noise when the lid is removed.
Q: What is the process you use in canning your green olives?
A: All of The Garlic Lady green olives are soaked in my secret brine for 9 months before hand stuffing them with garlic, cheese or peppers. The Special Martini Olives are soaked in Vermouth. Q: My husband has been fighting high blood pressure for years. My neighbor insists that my husband should eat more garlic. Will this really help?
A: I am not a medical professional, but I can tell you a little bit about what they say. Dr. F.G. Piotrowski of the University of Geneva reported one of the most highly regarded tests on the effectiveness of garlic lowering blood pressure. He wrote that garlic is able to inflate blood vessels, making it highly effective in reducing blood pressure. Click here if you would like to learn more about the health benefits of garlic. Q: My mother drinks both your pickled garlic juice and green olive juice. Is this common?
A: Oh yes, I have a lot of customers that drink the garlic and green olive juice (I also drink it). It tastes great, and is good for you! You can also add a little virgin olive oil and some seasoning to either garlic or olive juices and you will have a very nice salad dressing or marinade. Q: I have been told that garlic and vinegar combined is very healthy. Have you heard this?
A: Yes I have. In many clinical studies reported in medical journals, doctors and researchers have praised garlic and vinegar preventative and therapeutic properties. One benefit of garlic and vinegar is that they can significantly counteract the effect of harmful toxins on the body.
Q: Other than eating pickled garlic out of the jar, what can you do with it?
A: Great question! I am asked this question all of the time. Pickled garlic is great sliced up in green salads, potato salad, tuna salad, meat loaf, omelets… the list goes on. You might want to check out my recipes to get a detailed view of the possibilities. Q: I am on a low-carb diet and would like to know how many carbs your pickled garlic and green olives have?
A: The pickled garlic has 9 grams of carbs per serving. A serving is about 12 pieces of garlic (14 grams). My green olives have less than 1 gram of carbs per serving with the exception of my Bleu Cheese stuffed green olives. The Bleu Cheese stuffed olives have 1 gram of carbs per serving. A serving is 2 or 3 (14 grams) of my green olives. Q: How can you remove garlic odor from your breath?
A: My husband will tell you that I don’t worry about garlic breath. Of course, I am The Garlic Lady. Back to your question. You can try chewing on some fresh parsley. It will take the edge off of garlic breath. Parsley is also good for you. Another solution is to rinse your mouth with lemon juice mixed in a glass of water. Q: What is different about your Bloody Mary mixes?
A: As I developed the recipes for all three (3) of my Thai Style Bloody Mary mixes foremost on my mind was to provide mouth watering good taste and positive health benefits for my family, friends and customers. I use absolutely no sugar, high fructose corn syrup or any other type of sweetener in my bloody mary mixes. I also use no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no food colors. A splash of juice in you favorite vodka or gin, and you have a wonderful Dirty Martini! Add to your favorite pasta salad, spaghetti sauce or any recipe that you would like to add an olive flavor.

Advice from The Garlic Lady on using Garlic in your diet for mouth watering good taste & good health
The goal for GarlicLady.com is to make it the definitive online destination for information, advice and healthy recipes about garlic, olives, vegetables and natural beverages.Hi, my name is Lumchuan Burright, but to keep things simple, please feel free to call me The Garlic Lady.
I grew up in the tropical environment of Thailand where everywhere you look people are preparing food and delicious meals with vegetables, exotic fruits, and tasty spices and herbs.
My passion for using healthy ingredients for great diet comes from my family, particulary my grandfather.
He taught me the advantages of using garlic, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices in our diet for medicinal and culinary purposes.
My mother-in-law, Darlene (The Garlic Grandma) has played a huge role in teaching me how to develop recipes and to pickle in a way that Americans and Europeans appreciate. She is a 70+ year old farm girl that grew up in a family that literally lived off of the land.
Darlene learned from her mother who was an excellent German cook that fed a large family and farm hands. Since refrigeration was limited she used pickling to preserve vegetables, fruit, fish, pork, beef, chicken and wild meat.
She learned about gardening, hunting and fishing from her father, a Swedish American that was a farmer in eastern Oregon.
Wow, it is hard to believe that I now have over 35 years culinary experience in Thai, American, Indian and Italian cuisine. I have to admit I have noticed my friends getting older. I love cooking and spend almost as much time in the kitchen as I do in my garlic garden and vegetable garden.
The Role of Family Heritage on My Culinary & Naturopathic Background
Growing up on the farm
I grew up on a small farm in the 1950's northwest of Bangkok, Thailand. I met an American Air Force boy serving in Vietnam in 1969 and in 1970 found myself married and living in the United States. Wow, how did that happen?Growing up my grandfather took care of me and my brothers and sisters while the rest of the family worked in the fields and orchards during the day. He was a wise man who had an incredible knowledge of farming vegetables, herbs, spices and fruit. His special passion was garlic. Planting garlic, garlic seed, garlic plants and growing garlic was very important to him.
My farm education
Grandfather taught me how to raise, harvest, store, pickle, dry, and cook what came from our garden, orchard, and the jungle in fantastic recipes that have been handed down for generations from family members. Almost every recipe features garlic.Using food as our medicine
He also had a unique understanding on how to use these same ingredients that we raised in our garden, orchard and foraged from the jungle to prevent and cure disease.Traditional folk use of garlic and other herbal remedies is familiar to most of us in one form or another. This is the way that garlic and herbal usage has passed from generation to generation. It is my view that folk medicinal wisdom is of great value when coupled with western medicine.
Garlic was his featured natural preventative health item in his garlic garden. Garlic was his favorite medicinal item. Garlic and blood pressure. Cholesterol and garlic. Regulating blood sugar, treating blood clots, and much more.
As I have grown older I have really began to realize the importance of generations of my family's experience with medicinal folklore.
Quality, Fresh, Healthy Food Tastes Better
Grandfather also taught me that healthy food and beverages typically taste better than unhealthy food if prepared properly. He was so very right. He motivated me at a very young age to be the best cook I could be as well as being responsible for using healthy, high quality ingredients that are good for each of us.My Garlic Recipes
My recipe section will assist you in preparing mouth watering healthy meals for you, your family and friends. I feature garlic in almost every recipe just as my grandfather taught me.I believe that the ideal food provides good taste, good health, and a combination of flavors. Flavors should be neutral, sweet, hot and sour. Sometimes several of these flavors are present in a single creation, subtly blending, while in other instances one flavor predominates.
