Cancer Feeds on Sugar!
Consumption of refined sugar has skyrocketed. Our bodies developed in an environment where a person might consume 4 pounds of honey a year. In the mid-1800’s sugar consumption was 11 pounds per year. By the end of the 20th century humans were consuming 150 pounds per year. Incredible…When we eat sugar or white flour blood levels rise quickly. The body releases a dose of insulin to enable glucose to enter cells. Sugar nourishes tissues and makes them grow faster. Insulin and IGF promote inflammation which stimulates cell growth and acts as fertilizer for tumors.
Each of us can cut back on the amount of refined sugar we consume. It has been shown that simply reducing these two factors has a rapid effect on the levels of insulin and IGF in the blood.
