Veggies and Fruits:
Carrots, yams, sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, persimmons, apricots, beets, and bright colored fruits and vegetables contain vitamin A and lycopene, which have proven capacity to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
Green Tea
contains certain antioxidants known as polyphenois which appear to prevent cancer cells from dividing. According to a report in the July 2001 issue of the Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, these polyphenols are abundant in green tea, red wine and olive oil, mat protect against various types of cancer.
Green Tea Tip
Let Green Tea steep for 5 to 10 minutes to release its catechins.
Steep 0.07 ounces of tea for 10 minutes in a tea pot and drink within an hour. Drink 2 to 3 cups a day.
Tumeric
Tumeric is a member of the ginger family, is believed to have medicinal properties because it inhibits production of inflammation-related enzymes, which are abnormally high in certain cancers such as bowel and colon cancer. In the lab, it enhances the effectiveness of chemo and reduces tumor growth.

To be assimilated by the body, turmeric must be mixed with black pepper. Ideally, it should be dissolved in olive, canola or linseed oil).
How to use
Mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder with ½ teaspoon of olive oil and a generous pinch of black pepper. Add to veggies, soups, and salad dressings.
Ginger
Ginger root is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Ginger acts against certain cancer cells and is effective to help alleviate nausea.
How to use
Add ginger to stir fries, vegetables or marinade fruits in ginger. Add agave nector for sweetness.
Some 'Green' Veggies
Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, bok choy has a chemical compound called indole-3-carbinols, which are anticancer molecules.

Avoid boiling cabbage or broccoli as boiling destroys the medicinal value of these cruciform’s.
How to use
Steam briefly or stir-fry with a little olive oil.
The Smelly Ones
Garlic, Onions, Leeks, Shallots, Chives has immune-enhancing allium compounds that increase the activity of immune cells that fight cancer and indirectly help break down cancer causing substances. The sulfur compounds of this family (the ‘alliaceous’ family) reduce the carcinogenic effects which are created in over grilled meat. These anti-cancer foods help regulate blood sugar levels. This, in turn, reduces insulin secretion, and the growth of cancer cells.
How to use
Garlic, onions, leeks, shallots and chives can be fried in a little olive oil, mixed with veggies, or combined with curry.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes and Tomato Sauce contain lycopene, an antioxidant that attacks roaming oxygen molecules known as free radicals, that are known of triggering cancer. In fact, it has now been proven that lycopene in tomatoes leads to longer survival from prostrate cancer in men who consume tomato sauce in at least two meals a week.

Tomatoes MUST be cooked to release lycopene.
How to use
Use only tomato sauces with no added sugar or make homemade tomato sauce with onions, garlic, cumin, turmeric, and peppers.
Soy
Soy contains several types of phytoestrogens that blocks the stimulation of cancer cells by sex hormones. I am from Thailand where breast cancer is virtually unheard of. In Asia we eat soy from the time we are very young.

Isoflavone supplements (in pill form) have been associated with an aggravation of certain breast cancers. This is not the case when soy is taken as a food. Also, it maybe that soy can interfere with chemo called Taxol. It is advisable not to consume soy during chemo with Taxol under further studies are completed.
How to use
Replace milk products with soy milk and soy yogurt. Also use tofu, and miso products.
Mushrooms
There are a number of mushrooms that help the body fight cancer and build the immune system – Shiitake, maitake, enokidake, cremini, Portobello, oyster, and thistle oyster mushrooms all contain polysaccharides and lentinian, which stimulate the reproduction and activity of immune cells.
How to use
In soups, veggies, or chicken broth, oven grilled, or stir-fried with other veggies.
Herbs and Spices
Herbs and spices such as rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, and mint help increase the activity of detoxification enzymes. They reduce cancer cells from spreading by blocking their spread of enzymes they cells need to spread neighboring tissues.
